It's been a gloomy week so far and that doesn't change for Thursday. Most of the day is cloudy but dry. The chance for rain moves in after 5 PM with some pockets of moderate rain possible Thursday evening.
The rain will mix with snow and switchover to all snow in some spots during the overnight hours into early Friday morning. Our north and west counties have the best chance to see a switch to all snow with a mix in central areas and southern spots staying most rain.
Anyone that does see the slushy snow has the chance to get up to an inch. Most of that accumulation will be on grass but some roads could get a bit slushy and wet roads should be expected for the Friday morning commute. Central areas like Milwaukee and Waukesha will likely see a wintry mix of rain and snow but some sleet and freezing rain is possible too. Southern spots like Racine, Kenosha and Lake Geneva will see mainly rain.
Rain totals are highest in our southern areas around and south of Milwaukee. A half inch to 0.75" of rain is possible in these spots. North and west counties will likely see less rain but that's where slushy snow is a bit more likely.
