MILWUAKEE (CBS 58) -- Today, May 28, displaced residents from the Highland Court Apartment Complex fire are getting some much-needed help.
American Red Cross of Wisconsin is holding a MARC, or Multi Agency Resource Center, from 2-7 p.m. at the Martin Luther King Junior Community Center.
People can meet with caseworkers, get financial support and get connected with essential services.
The regional communications director for the American Red Cross of Wisconsin says this is the largest response she's dealt with in the past two years.
One daughter is hoping her mom can get a fresh start.
"She just lost everything, so she's just looking to get any type of help," said Genathea Hayes. "A new start or something. She doesn't really know what she's going to do at this point."
The Red Cross says 26 people stayed at Holler Park Shelter last night.
They hope this event gives them the resources they need to get back on their feet.
