MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- Fernwood Montessori, the MPS school that was set to reopen Wednesday, won't be holding classes yet.
The reopening is being pushed back, with staff being allowed in Thursday and students returning Friday.
The district sent a letter to parents saying the school still needs additional cleaning to remove lead from classrooms. But Superintendent Brenda Cassellius expressed confidence in the process at a board meeting Tuesday night.
"I'm really not worried about it because what we're doing is learning as we go, and our staff is getting better and better at these cleaning protocols, which is almost at the level of a hospital clean," Supt. Cassellius said.
