Report: Brewers sign LHP Aaron Ashby to multi-year contract through 2027 season

MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- The Brewers have signed left-handed pitcher Aaron Ashby to a five-year contract through the 2027 season. The contract also includes two club options, in 2028 and 2029.

According to Baseball America, Ashby was the top prospect in the Brewers organization going into the 2022 season. He was called up by the Brewers last June after a sensational minor league stint.

The Brewers selected the 23-year-old pitcher in the fourth round of the 2018 First-Year Player Draft out of Crowder College. In his 31 games (16 starts) for the Crew, Ashby has registered a 5-9 record with a 4.59 ERA, 2 saves, 122 strikeouts in 100.2 innings pitched during his career thus far in the majors.

This season, Ashby is 2-7 with a 4.57 ERA and 1 save. He has done all of that while recording 83 strikeouts in just 69 innings pitched.
