MADISON Wis. (CBS 58) -- Emmy-award winning actress Kerry Washington will campaign on behalf of Vice President Kamala Harris in Milwaukee on Sunday.

Washington, known to fans as Olivia Pope from the TV show 'Scandal,' plans to visit Milwaukee Oct. 27th for an event aimed at touting Harris and her running mate Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz ' "new way forward" agenda.

Washington will talk to voters about how Harris and Walz plan to "cut costs for families, protect reproductive freedom, and ensure every person has the opportunity to not just get by, but to get ahead," according to the campaign.

The visit comes as thousands of voters are casting a ballot ahead of Nov. 5th with early voting kicking off this week. The campaign said Washington also plans to encourage voters to head to the polls early and support "Democrats up and down the ballot."

The event follows other prominent surrogates flooding the state in the final days of the campaign. On Monday, former Wyoming Rep. Liz Cheney descended on the crucial Milwaukee suburbs with Harris to try and win-over moderate voters.

The Trump campaign recently hosted a "get out the vote" event Wednesday in Milwaukee with Rep. Wesley Hunt (R-TX) at the state's GOP Black voter outreach center.

Next week, former President Donald Trump will return to the battleground state to hold a rally in Green Bay on Oct. 31 and his running mate JD Vance will be in Racine on Monday.

No additional details on Washington's event were immediately available.
