SHARP Literacy fundraiser brings out Brewers star Jacob Misiorowski
CBS 58 MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) — American Family Field traded baseball for books Thursday as the ballpark hosted a fundraiser benefiting Milwaukee children.
The event featured several special guests, including CBS 58's Lance Allan and Milwaukee Brewers pitcher Jacob Misiorowski, who helped host an auction benefiting SHARP Literacy.
The Milwaukee nonprofit partners with schools to help students strengthen their reading skills and develop a love of learning.
Misiorowski has recently opened up about growing up with dyslexia and the challenges it created for him in school. On Thursday, he shared some advice for children facing similar struggles.
"I think the basic is literally just keep practicing," Misiorowski said. "Keep reading, keep reading, harder and harder words until you get it and keep trying."
Misiorowski also shared what he has been reading lately, saying his current favorite book series is "Dungeon Crawler Carl."
