WISCONSIN (CBS 58) -- Reckless driving continues to impact our city, becoming a major concern amongst voters.
Wednesday, state leaders unveiled a new piece of legislation that will aim to prevent reckless driving by engineering safer roads for residents
"Because traffic calming saves lives, it's plain and its simple," said Senator LaTonya Johnson. "We need to make sure that infrastructure reflects the need of our constituents, and that is to save as many lives as possible by making our streets and our communities safer."
In 2024 alone, there were a total of 138 fatalities and 2,084 people injured as a result of reckless driving crashes in Wisconsin.
