MINNESOTA (CBS 58) -- The suspect in the assassination and attempted assassination of two Minnesota lawmakers may have former Wisconsin ties.
Officials say the suspect in the deadly shooting of Minnesota State Representative Melissa Hortman and her husband, is 57-year-old Vance Boelter.
Boelter also targeted Minnesota State Senator John Hoffman and his wife, shooting them multiple times, according to Governor Tim Walz.
In a briefing, officials say he works for a security company, Praetorian Guard Security. The company website says that Boelter serves as the director of security patrols and has had training by people in the US military.
Boelter's Linkeldn shows that he appears to have ties to Milwaukee, attending Cardinal Stritch University from 2008 to 2016, where he graduated and earned two degrees.
The University has since closed back in 2023.
Meanwhile, several Wisconsin lawmakers are reacting to the shooting tonight:
Officials say Boelter is at large and a massive manhunt is underway.
