Man charged in hit-and-run that killed Watertown father of 3
MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- A witness is now speaking out after a father was gunned down on Milwaukee's south side.
Police are still searching for suspects in the robbery. Shots rang out near 7th and Becher just before midnight.
A 30-year-old man was killed. Veronica Mendez says she heard the shots from inside her house and jumped on top of her son to protect him.
"If anybody knows anything, just say something. They need closure, they need to know what happened. We all need to know as a community on this block and get this person caught," Veronica Mendez said.
Loved ones have placed a vigil near the scene.
Mendez says the victim had one child and a second one the way.
