Three arrested after police find $6,000 worth of suspected meth in Genoa City drug bust

GENOA CITY, Wis. (CBS 58) -- Three people are in custody after police searched a suspected drug house in Walworth County. 

According to Genoa City Police, police searched a home on Carter Street near Hillside Cemetery around 8:30 Wednesday morning. Police say during the search, a man was arrested for being a felon in possession of a firearm, drug possession, and other possible charges related to running a drug house. 

Two women in the home were also arrested on drug-related violations. Five children were taken to child protective services after police said they found two children at the home during the search and three others were at school at the time of the operation. Additional charges for child neglect are pending. Investigators say the home was condemned temporarily per the Walworth County Health Department. 

During the search, investigators found about $6,000 worth of meth, a handgun, and various items of drug paraphernalia.
