MPD MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- Former NFL quarterback Tony Romo says he is pleading no contest to a civil OWI offense following his July arrest in Milwaukee.
Romo was pulled over and arrested Thursday, July 23 on I-43.
In a social media statement Tuesday, Sept. 1, Romo reflected on struggles with pain medication and alcohol since retiring from football, which he linked to pain following multiple back surgeries.
"None of this is an excuse, these are my failures, and I take full responsibility for them," Romo said.
Romo said he is now turning his attention to his health and family, along with a possible return to the broadcast booth.
