TWIN LAKES, Wis. (CBS 58) -- A 14-year-old girl is being held at the Racine County Juvenile Detention Facility after Twin Lakes Police say she stabbed her father in the face with a butcher knife.
According to the Village of Twin Lakes Police Department, officers were called to an apartment in the area of Holy Hill Road and 360th Avenue around 9:00 p.m. Sunday, January 13.
When officers arrived, they found a 38-year-old man with a stab wound to his face. They later learned the wound was caused by a large butcher knife. Authorities say the man and his daughter had been arguing earlier in the evening about an online relationship she was involved in. Later, when the man was lying down in the living room, his 14-year-old daughter reportedly came from the kitchen and attacked him with a large butcher knife. The teen's mother, who was also in the apartment, heard the man yell and reported she saw the teen standing near her father holding two large knives. The teen then threw the knives down.
The father was able to get up and held the 14-year-old down on the floor while the mother called police.
The victim was taken to the hospital for non-life threatening injuries while the teen was taken into custody.
Criminal charges are expected to be referred to the Kenosha County District Attorney.
