Versiti teams with Milwaukee Brewers for unique blood drive offering tickets

MILWAUKEE, (CBS 58) -- On Monday, July 6 Brewers fans made their way to American Family Field, but this time it wasn't for a baseball game, it was to help others. 

Versiti Blood Center partnered with the Brewers for their 'Ticket to Summer Blood Drive'.

The drive comes at a critical time, as blood donations tend to dip during the summer months. 

One member of the Versiti team said these acts of generosity go a long way toward saving lives. 

"Especially after our heatwave last week patients really rely on blood products whether it's for a trauma or cancer patients blood needs to be on the shelves." said donor Olivia Misorski 

As a token of appreciation, all donors were given two tickets to a Brewers game, a gift card, and a post-donation lunch. 

If you are interested in donating, the drive is also running on Tuesday, July 7.
