MILWAUKEE (CBS58) -- Twenty-four-year-old Rommel Wood took his last breath one year ago today.
"Since that day I haven’t heard a clue, we haven't got any answers," Lance said. He is Wood's cousin.
Milwaukee police say around 4 a.m. Thursday morning, Nov 12, 2020, Wood was found unresponsive outside his car near 11th and Burleigh.
He was shot multiple times. Despite medical attention, he was pronounced dead on the scene.
"He wasn't the type of guy who bring drama or attention to himself," said Lance.
The focus now is keeping his name alive in the midst of their grieve.
"The effect he had on his family, on me, a few of my other cousins," Lance said. "At his funeral, people who I never met going up there speaking for him and saying this man changed my life."
While Wood is no longer here, his family says he left a piece of him with his family. Wood leaves behind his 2-year-old daughter, Rameira Wood.
The family held a vigil to remember Wood Friday, Nov 12.
If you have any information about Wood's murder, the family is asking that you call police.
