Season snow check as we head into a nice weekend
FRANKLIN, Wis. (CBS 58) -- Whether you like the winter or not, there’s something special about the first big snowfall of the season.
At Crystal Ridge Ski Hill, hundreds of families are taking advantage of the snowfall on Friday, Dec. 20.
“You know, we woke up this morning and my kids were pumped. They were like 'can we go play in the snow? Can we go do something in the snow?'” said Dana Schnurman.
Crystal Ridge General Manager Riley May says the ski hill saw about 4 inches of natural snowfall.
“We groomed the hill last night so everything from about midnight and on, it’s just naturally built up on the hill. It offers some really fun riding,” said May.
Some families say they were rushing to get out the door this morning to partake in a winter activity whether that was skiing, sledding or tubing.
“So, you know I got I think my husband snow pants cause I couldn’t find mine. We’re all mixed and matched with our snow gear,” said Schnurman.
It’s a stark contrast from last winter, where ski hills struggled to stay open.
“This winter is gonna be the best one yet. Last one definitely was a rougher start, and we managed through and still had a great time and a decent season,” said May. “We’re off to a much better start here with a cooler temps, snow making.”
So, when it snows in Wisconsin, you just have make the best of it while you can.
