FOND DU LAC, Wis. (CBS 58) – A 56-year-old woman is in police custody following a shooting in Fond du Lac early Wednesday morning.

Authorities say they were called to the area near Western Ave. and Oak St. shortly after 4 a.m. for a report of a person with a gunshot wound.

A 41-year-old man was taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries. Police say after an investigation, they identified a person of interest and ultimately arrested the 56-year-old woman. Authorities say the victim and suspect knew each other.

The shooting remains under investigation.
