Milwaukee mom in custody after officials say she shot security guard, teen, by Incredi-Roll in West Allis
WEST ALLIS, Wis. (CBS 58) -- A birthday party at a family fun center in West Allis on Saturday night took a violent turn that ended with two people getting shot.
Officials with the West Allis Police Department (WAPD) said they were first called out to the Incredi-Roll Skate and Family Fun Center near Oklahoma and 108th around 8:00 p.m. on Feb. 24.
CBS 58 spoke with owner Cory Hundley who said in his 30 years of running the business, "nothing like this has ever happened before."
"We have birthdays whenever we're open to the public," Hundley told CBS 58's Ellie Nakamoto-White. "There were a couple of birthday moms who got into it with each other."
Hundley said multiple people began physically fighting near the concessions area inside, with police confirming one even started using pepper spray.
“And when that started to erupt, our security team grabbed a hold of the person that was causing the problem, escorted them out of the building and made them leave the property," Hundley said.
According to police, a 32-year-old Milwaukee woman then got into her car and drove away.
Hundley said his team "thought it was over."
But minutes later, he said "the mom did a U-turn and came back around on Oklahoma Avenue... and did a drive-by on the street."
Those shots ended up injuring a 44-year-old security guard and a 14-year-old boy, neither of whom were involved in the fight.
"They shot the security guard in the leg. He's going to be okay, praise God. It went clean through. I just spoke with him, and he’ll be walking in two weeks, and he’s been released," Hundley said. “The teenage boy was randomly hit by the spraying bullets in the ankle, and I’ve been told by police that he’s going to be okay as well.”
The suspect involved is now in custody after she was located by Milwaukee police during a traffic stop, who then turned her over to WAPD.
"Just happened to have a lady who went a little off the tracks, a lot off the tracks," Hundley said. "I'm just happy that everyone involved is going to be okay.”
The rink is back open for business.
