Know before you go
Summerfest is a cashless event. It's cards only for all purchases.
There are ways to get in the gates for free. The first 1,500 people to show up to Summerfest before 3 p.m. on Saturday, June 24 can get in free -- thanks to Briggs & Stratton and United Way. In order to qualify for free admission, you have to bring a donation for hygiene products, like new socks, deodorant, and period products, worth a minimum value of $10. Those donations will go to Mary Lou's Closet, a United Way organization helping students in need.
"It's an opportunity for people who enjoy music and want to give back to the community. It's a small way for them to give a small donation that goes a really long way. These donations go back to our schools, and can have a huge impact on a student's self esteem," said Francisco Sanchez, United Way community schools manager.
The best part about Summerfest? There's something for everyone.
"Everyone's genuine, friendly, happy, having the best time," said Beth Klauman, visiting from Utah.
