The calendar may say January, which is our most snowy month on average, but the forecast is mostly rain. We had a solid soaking rain in some areas on Tuesday, especially across Waukesha, Milwaukee, Washington and Ozaukee Counties where some steady rain in the morning dropped 0.25-0.75" of rain.
Wednesday stays mostly dry with a cloudy start then sunshine in the afternoon. Thursday morning still looks dry but by Thursday afternoon some rain chances will return.
The rain could be a bit showery to start before pockets of steady moderate to heavy rain will be possible. Rain chances continue through late Thursday evening before a couple of light mix showers could be possible on Friday.
Rain totals once again look fairly heavy. 0.25" to 0.75" of rain might be possible with some areas even getting close to an inch of rain. It's not a bad idea to clear out your gutters, downspouts and even storm drains around your house from all of the leaves that have collected over the winter.
