Firefighters extinguish condo fire in New Berlin Tuesday night

NEW BERLIN, Wis. (CBS 58) -- The New Berlin Fire Department (NBFD) announced Wednesday, Dec. 1, that firefighters successfully put out a blaze inside a multi-family residential unit on Tuesday, Nov. 30.

Authorities report that at 8:35 p.m. the New Berlin Fire Department along with New Berlin Police Department were dispatched to a report of a  structure fire near Heritage and Coachlight in New Berlin.

NBFD announced that after investigation on scene, responding fire crews noticed light smoke coming from a condo in the residential structure.

Additional fire crews on the scene reportedly discovered that the source of the smoke was coming from the condo below.

Officials say that crews used minimal amounts of water along with extensive overhaul to extinguish the area of origin.

Additionally, reports show that on-scene crews also used ventilation fans to clear the residence of smoke.

The New Berlin Fire Department says that no responders or occupants were injured during the incident.

The cause of the fire is reportedly undetermined at this time.
