Funeral services set to begin for UW-Whitewater student Kara Welsh

WHITEWATER, Wis. (CBS 58) -- Funeral services start Thursday for a UW-Whitewater gymnast who was killed earlier this month. 

Friends and family will come together in Illinois to remember Kara Welsh. 

Police say she was shot and killed during an argument with her boyfriend. 

There will be a visitation from 3-8 p.m. Thursday night, Sept. 12, at Overman-Jones Funeral Home in Plainfield, Illinois. 

A Mass will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at St. Mary Immaculate Catholic Church, also in Plainfield. 

Chad Richards is charged with Welsh's murder. 

He will be in court next month.
