APPLETON, Wis. (CBS 58) -- One dog at the Fox Valley Humane Association in Appleton is more than ready to find his forever home -- he's been at the shelter for more than a year.

Jax is a ball of energy, and his handlers say that's part of the reason he's hung around so long.

His forever home can't have any other pets, and would ideally only have kids over the age of 10.

Jax is playful and a sweetheart, but his handlers say his 700-day stay in the shelter is beginning to make the happy-go-lucky pooch a little sad.

"We've noticed that he's starting to get a little depressed in his kennel," said Executive Director Vicki Prey. "He's an extremely loyal dog to his humans, he's very affectionate, and he's ready to go, he's ready to go be your boy."

If you think your home might be a good fit for Jax, you can head over to the Fox Valley Humane Association website at www.foxvalleypets.org.
