The humidity has arrived. We have had a few muggy days so far this season with dew points in the 60s but dew points Tuesday morning have already reached 70 degrees in spots. Those dew points will hang out around that number most of Tuesday and rise a little into the low 70s Wednesday and Thursday.
In addition to then humidity rising, temperatures will warm up as well. Those temps reach the low 80s Tuesday then upper 80s with a run at 90 on Wednesday and drop a touch into the mid 80s Thursday. A cold front Thursday will drop the temps into the upper 70s Friday and Saturday.
Multiple rounds of storms look likely for Wednesday and Thursday. A cluster of storms may be possible Wednesday morning although there is some uncertainty where that cluster tracks and it could miss us to the north and south. More rounds of strong storms are likely Wednesday afternoon, evening and even possibly into Thursday morning.
A level 3 Enhanced Risk for Severe Weather has already been issued for Wednesday with almost the entire state included.
On Thursday the Level 3 Enhanced Risk is in place for our southern counties. The cold front will be the focus for severe storms on Thursday. A Level 2 Slight Risk is in place in our northern counties and northern Wisconsin probably misses out on the severe stuff.
For the storms both Wednesday and Thursday damaging wind is likely the primary threat but a few tornadoes are possible. Some hail and a decent chance for flooding are also of concern.
Rain totals for Wednesday and Thursday could reach multiple inches of rain. The official forecast from the National Weather Service shows the potential for 2-4" of rain by the end of the week. If that rain comes too quickly flooding would be a real possibility.
