HOUSTON, Texas (CBS 58) -- JJ Watt is giving a Texas boy something to smile about this new year.
Cooper hurt his leg in a trampoline accident on New Year's day.
The doctor told him he had the same injury as JJ Watt so Cooper immediately wanted to put on his Watt jersey.
"He got up and he asked for his JJ Watt jersey. I was like okay. He says look mom, I'm JJ."
His mom took a picture of Cooper in his Watt jersey. Watt tweeted back, giving him some words of encouragement.
"JJ Watt steps up to the plate big time for everybody but for him to step out and touch a little guy like this, who is only 6, who idolizes him, it really means a lot to me," said Judith Davis, Cooper's mom.
Watt also asked for Cooper's gaming ID so the two can play video games together during their recoveries.
