WAUKESHA, Wis. (CBS 58) -- They’re not fossilized. They’re massive, and for a second you might wonder if they’re actually alive.

More than 60 animatronic dinosaurs have stomped into the Waukesha County Expo Center for Jurassic Journey. It’s an interactive prehistoric experience filled with roaring dinosaurs.

You’ll hear thunderous roars echo, see tails swing back and forth and eyes blink as they follow you through the outdoor exhibit.

“They make sounds, hopefully what they sounded like 160 million years ago," said Shirley Walczak, site manager. “So, they can be a little scary, but we keep them all behind the pen so they’re not going to get out, well I say that but a couple of them might escape once in a while.”

There are interactive spaces for kids and learning spaces for all ages.

And on May 15, when the sun goes down, the Dinos will light up. Jurassic Journey will host “Dinos After Dark,” an evening event geared toward adults from 7 to 10 p.m.

The nighttime experience will feature live music and mocktails.

“This is the first time Jurassic Journey has ever been anywhere,” Walczak said.

Tickets are offered at a discount if purchased ahead of time. The event is cashless if you choose to purchase tickets at the door.

Jurassic Journey runs through May 25.
