Kohl's announces commitment of $2.5M to Milwaukee nonprofits
MENOMONEE FALLS, Wis. (CBS 58) -- Kohl's has announced a commitment of more than $2.5 million to seven Milwaukee-area nonprofits, with the details being revealed in a Monday, Aug. 5 press release.
This funding includes $500,000 for Acts Housing, providing homebuyer education and services for BIPOC and low-income families. The Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Milwaukee will receive $550,000 for youth programs, while the Greater Milwaukee Urban League will get $100,000 for education and employment initiatives.
The Milwaukee Art Museum will continue offering art programs with $550,000 in support. Ronald McDonald House Charities Eastern Wisconsin is set to receive $200,000 for family programming. Safe & Sound will benefit from a $350,000 commitment for neighborhood safety initiatives and the Zoological Society of Milwaukee will receive $500,000 for Kohl's Wild Theater performances.
Kohl's noted in their press release that the funding comes from their Kohl's Cares Goods for Good program, with Kohl's Cares already having committed over $160 million to Milwaukee-area organizations. The primary goal is to support groups that support family health and wellness, as well as addressing disparities.
