Light snow chances continue as we wrap up 2025

NOW: Light snow chances continue as we wrap up 2025
NEXT:

We didn't have a White Christmas this year but shortly after the holiday the temperatures dropped and the snow chances returned. Southeast Wisconsin picked up 1-3" of snow Sunday into Monday with a lot of wind causing blowing and drifting snow.

That snow to start the week has pushed our snow depth in Milwaukee back up to 1". Madison has a bit more with 2" on the ground but central and northern Wisconsin have the most with 4-8" of snow after near blizzard conditions in some of those areas to start the new week.

More snow chances are on the way as we wrap up December and 2025. Light snow showers are possible as early as midday on Tuesday and continue through the late evening hours. Most of the snow looks fairly light and showery but a few hours of steady snow might be possible in the evening.

Overall, the snow will be very fluffy which might make it easier to pile up in some areas. Around a half inch of snow lakeside might be possible with some totals getting closer to an inch or 1.5" in some of our northern or northwest counties.

After Tuesday's light snow, another round of light snow showers are flurries will be possible on Wednesday. Could see another dusting or a few tenths of snow for New Year's Eve but should be drying out by the time you are heading out to parties in the evening. New Year's Day on Thursday could feature some flurries.
