Man sentenced to 3 years in prison for stealing vehicle with 2 children inside

OAK CREEK, Wis. (CBS 58) -- Twenty-two-year-old Bobby Reed was sentenced to three years in prison after being charged with stealing a vehicle out of a gas station parking lot with two children inside. 

The Oak Creek Police Department responded to a report of a stolen vehicle on Sunday, Feb. 4. 

It happened around 11:24 p.m., at a Kwik Trip near 27th and College Ave. 

According to police, upon arrival, it was discovered that the victim's vehicle was stolen with their two children still inside. Shortly after fleeing the scene, the stolen vehicle was located and abandoned with the victim's children inside, unharmed. 

The kidnapping charges were dismissed, and he was sentenced on the carjacking charge. Reed pleaded guilty to taking a car without consent and bail jumping in August. 

Two others involved in the incident were sentenced to probation last month.
