MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- Milwaukee police are investigating a deadly crash near Fairmount and Appleton Ave. that happened around 4 p.m. Sunday afternoon, Nov. 16.
Police state the driver, a 38-year-old, and passenger, a 39-year-old, were traveling southeast on Appleton Ave. when police say the vehicle collided with a tree and caught fire.
Both the driver and passenger died due to injuries from the crash.
The Milwaukee County Medical Examiner's Office identified the victims of the crash as 38-year-old Latasha Campbell and 39-year-old Jeremiah Jefferies -- both from Milwaukee.
"For it to be right outside our house, it's dangerous. We don't feel safe and it's just really sad," said Kenya Guzman, who lives near the scene of the crash.
CBS 58 is working to learn more information about the incident.
