Milwaukee woman struck by car near 87th and Hampton, critically injured

MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- Milwaukee police are investigating a crash that left a woman critically injured Thursday morning, March 16.

Authorities say a 21-year-old driver struck the woman while she was crossing the street near 87th and Hampton just before 5 a.m. 

The 54-year-old woman was taken to an area hospital with life-threatening injuries. 

Police arrested the driver. 

Criminal charges will be referred to the Milwaukee County District Attorney's Office in the coming days.
