MKE Live Groove brings local, soulful music to day 1 of Summerfest

MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- Summerfest is kicking off with the soulful sounds of 10 local musicians. There will be hundreds of artists performing on 13 stages over the next three weekends. That includes 10 up-and-coming artists in the Milwaukee area who will play as part of the MKE Live Groove concert series.

Serita Campbell is one of them. 

"I'm from a small town. Getting up on a stage in front of a lot of people, knowing that the stage has been shared with such great artists -- celebrities and local celebrities as well. It's definitely an honor," said Campbell.

You can see the MKE Live Groove Concert Series around Milwaukee at places like Cactus Club, but between 12:45 and 2:45 on Thursday, June 20, some of the musicians, like Campbell, will take the Aurora Pavillion stage. 

She'll sing cover songs from artists like Erykah Badu, plus some of her own gospel songs. 

Alongside tons of music, Summerfest is also full of food and interactive experiences.
