MPD: Motorcyclist critically injured in crash near 16th and Burnham

MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- Police are investigating a serious accident involving a car and motorcycle that occurred Wednesday, July 1.

Authorities say it happened around 1:40 p.m. near 16th and Burnham.

A vehicle made a left turn in front of a motorcycle who was traveling straight in oncoming traffic. The motorcycle collided with the car and the motorcyclist, a 30-year-old woman, was ejected from motorcycle. Police say she sustained serious injuries and was taken to a local hospital in critical condition.

The driver of the vehicle, a 34-year-old woman, was arrested. 

Criminal charges will be referred to the Milwaukee County DA's Office.
