MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- New video shows the moments an armed man shot at a Milwaukee woman as she was parking her car.

Forty-year-old Anthony Rivera of Winnebago shot the woman through the cheek early last Wednesday, July 2. She did survive.

Rivera is in custody, charged with two felonies for first degree reckless injury and possession of a firearm by a felon.

Surveillance footage

The woman who was shot was trying to park her car on Greenfield Ave. just before 1 a.m. early Wednesday morning. Rivera ran at her, firing the entire time.

Her car was hit three times. Three other parked cars were also hit.

She ran inside, a family member called 911, and she was taken to the hospital.

A short time before the shooting and several blocks away, neighbors called 911 to report a man was on their porch with a gun.

Doorbell video shows Rivera walked up the steps onto the porch. His ponytail was visible, he was wearing the white T-shirt, and the gun was plainly seen.

He then hopped over the railing and walked toward the location of the shooting.

Before the victim was sedated at the hospital, she was able to communicate with police by nodding. The criminal complaint read, "When asked if it was the suspect with a ponytail and white T-shirt, she again nodded yes."

A responding officer a few blocks from the shooting scene saw Rivera walking along Greenfield Avenue and arrested him.

Thirteen shell casings were found along the road. A block away, officers found a .40 caliber pistol in a backyard with no bullets in the magazine.

After the shooting, Rivera was interviewed. He said, "he believes his family was executed because he talks too much." He thought he was being followed that night. And he said, "he fired his gun and emptied his clip because he feared for his safety."

Three times in the past, Rivera has pleaded guilty to possessing a firearm as a felon.

Anthony Rivera is being held on a $125,000 bond. He's scheduled to be back in court in one week, on July 14.
