Not guilty plea entered for man accused of setting girlfriend on fire in Salem Lakes

MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- A man accused of setting his girlfriend on fire in Salem Lakes before going on the run, will stand trial.

Myron Bowie, 36, is charged with attempted first-degree intentional homicide.

The incident happened on July 30, inside a home near 86th Place and 245th Avenue.

The Kenosha County Sheriff's Department says, Bowie told the victim in an argument he would kill her, her children and her whole family before setting her on fire and driving away.

Bowie was picked up in Chicago less than a week later without incident.

In court Wednesday, Aug. 16, a not guilty plea was entered for Bowie.

He was bound over for trial.

Bowie is due back in court for a pretrial on Sept. 8.
