WEST ALLIS, Wis. (CBS 58) -- The West Allis Police Department investigated an incident in which a pedestrian was hit by a vehicle on Friday, Sept. 29, around 9:23 p.m., near 117th and Cleveland.
Police say a vehicle was travelling west on Cleveland and 117th, when a group of pedestrians crossed into traffic that was partially blocked by cars stopped near the intersection. The vehicle hit a pedestrian in the street.
Tim, a witness, who provided video of the crash scene, told CBS 58 that this happened after a football game at Nathan Hale high school. He said that several teenage girls were crossing Cleveland at the corner of 117th when he heard a "thud."
The witness said he did not see the accident happen, but said he saw a girl lying in the crosswalk surrounded by other teenagers, and that the driver of the vehicle stopped and stayed with them.
"He appeared very concerned and cooperative," the witness said.
According to police, the pedestrian was taken to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
