Racine & Me: Soccer Goalkeeping legends in Racine
RACINE, WI (CBS 58) -- Stan Anderson is the owner of Camp Shutout and Mark Litton is the Director of Goalkeeping – US Youth Futsal. They both joined us in studio to discuss their careers and friendship in Racine.
They released the following information about themselves:
"We’d like to share our story of how we started as teammates (both of us goalkeepers) at UWP in 1986 and 37+ years later the paths that each of us have taken as elite goalkeeper coaches, and the impact we’ve made on a national and global scale. Both of us call Racine our home. Our journey started as fierce competitors, knowing that only one of us could be the starting goalkeeper at UW-Parkside. But that competitive fire between us helped to build our lifelong friendship and fuel our desire to continue giving back to the sport (soccer) and position (goalkeeper) that we both love. Both of us were college All American’s, both of us broke multiple school records, both of us set national records (and even to this day we are still in the top 20 of the NCAA D2 national record book). Where Stan stayed the course with the outdoor goalkeeper position, I gravitated towards the Indoor soccer and Futsal goalkeeper position. Each of us are nationally recognized goalkeeper coaches at every level of the game. We’d like to share some of our accomplishments during each of our journeys. To have 2 of the most recognized goalkeeper coaches in the nation, coming out of the same college program, calling the same town their home, is extraordinarily unique, and is the reason we’ve reached out to you to help share our story in the Racine community."
