Racine officials respond to vacant building fire after neighbor reports smoke coming from broken window

RACINE, Wis. (CBS 58) -- Authorities are investigating after a fire broke out inside a vacant building in Racine early Saturday, Jan. 11. 

The Racine Fire Department was called to 1315 Grand Avenue at 3:15 a.m., after a neighbor saw smoke coming from a broken window of the building. 

Officials were able to contain the fire to the kitchen and adjacent pantry. The estimated damage is $25,000. 

Fire officials searched and found the building to be completely vacant. Graffiti on an exterior wall was seen.
