Sheboygan County struggles to contain coronavirus as cases surge

SHEBOYGAN, Wis. (CBS 58) -- Sheboygan County is reporting an alarming increase in coronavirus cases.

The county health department has issued a public health emergency alert.

Back on June 23, the county had 190 cases overall.

As of Oct. 8, that total is more than 2,500 cases.

The health department says the increasing caseload is affecting efforts to contain the virus.

They haven't been able to notify people who test positive for coronavirus or start contact tracing in a timely manner.
