MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- Ten people and several pets are displaced following a fire in South Milwaukee Tuesday, Sept. 8.
Crews responded to reports of a kitchen fire near 17th and Rawson around 12:42 p.m., according to the South Milwaukee Fire Department, which was brought under control just before 1 p.m.
Officials say six adults, four children, and several pets are now displaced and being assisted by the American Red Cross.
The fire department says one occupant was treated for an injury at the scene and released.
Cudahy, St. Francis, Oak Creek, and the Milwaukee Fire Department assisted in bringing the fire under control quickly.
The cause remains under investigation.
