MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- Wisconsin native Jordan Stolz raced in the 500-meter speed skate earlier Saturday, Feb. 14, and he won gold!

This is second Olympic gold medal he's won, posting another Olympic record time.

Earlier this week, Stolz also set the Olympic record for the 1,000-meter when he won gold!

He is now just the second man ever to win the 500 meter and the 1,000-meter gold in the same Olympics, joining Madison native Eric Heiden, who did it in 1980.

Stolz trained at the Pettit National Ice Center in Milwaukee, and Saturday, CBS 58 talked with two speedskaters who shared the ice with him.

"He's a really great resource to have around and look over across the ice and see the best skater in the world," said Tommy Fitzgerald from Milwaukee. "It's kind of the perfect example."

Stolz has two more races in this Olympics.

On Thursday, he'll skate in the men's 1,500 meter and next Saturday he'll be in the men's mass start.

"Being on the ice with him, sometimes just training separately, is pretty cool," said Matthew Passarella from Fond Du Lac.
