Suspect arrested behind Brookfield golf range after threatening to kill someone at mall

BROOKFIELD, Wis. (CBS 58) -- New details have been released into an arrest that happened over the weekend in Brookfield.

Jamel Scott, 21, is facing four misdemeanor charges including threatening injury or harm through a computer message and resisting an officer.  

On Sunday, May 17, police responded to Brookfield Square Mall after one of the mall employees reported that the father of her child, Jamel Scott, was making violent threats toward her over text. 

Scott said he was heading toward her direction at the mall. 

Police began searching the area and eventually found Scott, but he took off on foot. 

Newly-released body camera video shows the moment officers were able to track down Scott in a wooded area near the Storms Golf Driving Range in Brookfield. 

Scott's cash bond was set at $4,000 earlier this week. 

He is due back in court July 13.

BROOKFIELD, Wis. (CBS 58) -- One person was arrested after police say they threatened to kill someone at Brookfield Square Mall on Sunday, May 17. 

City of Brookfield police responded to the mall shortly after 8:30 a.m. 

Officers say after they located the suspect, but he took off.

Officers pursued the suspect and shortly after located them behind the Brookfield Storms Range and Northshore Bank, where they were arrested.

Drones and a K-9 unit were requested to assist in the arrest.
