Teens accused of firing fireworks at vehicle while fleeing on e-scooters in West Allis

WEST ALLIS, Wis. (CBS 58) — Two 17-year-olds were taken into custody Tuesday night after allegedly firing fireworks at a vehicle and then attempting to flee police on e-scooters.

According to the West Allis Police Department, officers were called to the 700 block of S. 100th St. shortly before 11:30 p.m. after a man reported two boys on Lime scooters were shooting fireworks at him.

Police said one of the fireworks nearly struck the caller in the face and landed inside his vehicle before exploding.

Officers located the two 17-year-old boys from West Allis, but authorities say they refused to stop and continued fleeing on the scooters.

During the pursuit, an officer attempted to deploy a Taser on one of the teens, but it was unsuccessful.

Officers eventually caught up with both suspects and took them into custody.

The incident remains under investigation.
