MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- A celebration for a hometown hero took place in Milwaukee Monday, May 11.
A surprise birthday party was held at the VA Medical Center for Kenneth Shea, a WWII veteran turning 100.
Medical staff, family and friends were there to celebrate the milestone.
We spoke with his daughter, Jennifer Freckmann, about the impact his service had on her life.
"I had the pleasure of joining him on an Honor Flight back in 2013," Freckmann said. "We went and that was so amazing, it just touched my heart just as much as it touched his. So we are very proud of his service."
Kenneth officially turns 100 on Thursday, May 14.
