Warm weekend with storm chances each day

NOW: Warm weekend with storm chances each day
NEXT:

So far this spring we have had some warm days here and there but they are usually short lived. This weekend heading into the beginning of next week is our first round of prolonged and consistent warmth. High temperatures reach the middle 70s Friday then low 80s Saturday. A bit of a lake breeze Sunday cools us slightly, but still above average, around 70. Then back to 80 Monday and still warm in the 70s Tuesday.

Some of that warmth for the weekend will increase the fuel for some thunderstorm chances all weekend long. We are waking up to some light showers Friday morning. That shower chance ends during the morning commute then most of the daylight hours are dry before a chance for storms arrives around and after midnight.

This line of storms could be strong to severe in western Wisconsin but should weaken as it moves east. Futurecast is still showing some strong storms when it arrives in our western counties and a Level 1 Marginal Risk is in place there. The bullseye for severe storms Friday, and most of the weekend, is off to our west in Iowa.

Some of the storms Friday night could linger into Saturday morning. Then we once again dry out during the day Saturday. Another round of stronger storms will be possible later Saturday evening into Sunday morning. Scattered storms look a bit more likely during the day Sunday. Each day this weekend has the chance at stronger storms.

The best chance for some severe storms locally might be on Monday. Download the CBS 58 Weather app to stay on top of all of the storm chances and track any storms with the interactive radar.
