What a light show for us! The Northern Lights are forecast to brighten the sky overnight into Sunday too

MILWAUKEE (CBS 58)--Thank you, Mother Nature.  We got incredible pictures overnight into Saturday morning of the Northern Lights.  This is some of the best viewing we've seen in two decades!  And we're not done.  We could see another viewing into Sunday morning as well.  This phenomenon occurs when high-energy particles form the sun (solar wind) collide with oxygen and nitrogen atoms present in our atmosphere.  The energized release is what procudes the light we see.
