Wisconsin state health secretary Karen Timberlake stepping down

WISCONSIN (CBS 58) -- Wisconsin's state health secretary is leaving Governor Tony Evers' administration.

DHS Secretary-designee Karen Timberlake took over the post in January of 2021 when her predecessor, Andrea Palm, took a job in President Biden's administration.

She's one of many Evers appointees who never received a confirmation vote in the Senate.

Timberlake will leave on Jan. 2, the day before Evers is sworn into his second term.
