A boost in temperatures despite the lack of sunshine
You couldn't have asked for better weather to kick off Easter weekend! Abundant sunshine helped temps warm into the upper 60s to low 70s across the area today. It was Milwaukee's first day in the 70s this year!
On average, Milwaukee's first 70° day occurs on April 2nd, so today's 70 was right on schedule. This is the third year in a row Milwaukee has had it's first 70° day in early April, but you may remember back in 2017 we hit 71° in late February! Not only is that the earliest 70° day on record, it's also the only time Milwaukee has hit 70° in February.
If you want to feel the 70s again on Sunday, you'll have to get away from the lake. An onshore wind will hold temperatures in the 50s to around 60° lakeside on Easter, while spots well inland warm into the low 70s.
A few more clouds will filter the sun on Easter, but we'll remain dry with very high fire danger once again. However, scattered showers and storms move back in on Monday and will continue off and on for a majority of the week.
Download the CBS 58 Ready Weather App track the showers and storms and see how much temps will drop with the incoming wet weather.
