Updated: April 20, 2026
MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- Milwaukee's Clean and Green program started Monday, April 20. It's a citywide neighborhood cleanup program that offers a scheduled opportunity to dispose of household items.
This year, Clean and Green provides a chance for people to get rid of items that were damaged by flooding.
Residents are asked to place accepted items like furniture, mattresses, and household materials out on their regular garbage collection day.

MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- Milwaukee is hosting Project Clean & Green this year. Neighborhoods will be given a date between now and June to put out larger items like furniture and items damaged by flooding to be collected for pickup.
The garbage must be no larger than six cubic yards and it will be collected on your regular scheduled trash day.
It starts with Zone 1, that includes most of the Sherman and Enderis Park area.
"We want to take pride in our neighborhood and I’m so happy that our city and our community has these sort of things to engage in. Earth Day is coming up, lots of community cleanups are going to be taking place. So please engage in a cleanup," said Milwaukee Alderwoman Sharlene Moore.
Things not included in Project Clean & Green include tires and appliances.
