Grammy-winning Indigo Girls set to play Pabst Theater in October, joined by Linda Perry
Pabst Theater Group MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- The Indigo Girls will perform at the Pabst Theater on Monday, Oct. 19 with doors at 6 p.m. and the show starting at 7 p.m.
The Grammy-winning duo of Emily Saliers and Amy Ray has sold more than 15 million records across 16 studio albums since forming in Atlanta and signing to Epic Records in 1988. Their self-titled major label debut sold more than two million copies behind the singles "Closer to Fine" and "Kid Fears" and was the first of six consecutive albums to be certified Gold or Platinum in sales.
According to a press release from the band, Saliers and Ray are longtime activists who have worked on issues including racial justice, reproductive rights, immigration reform, LGBTQ advocacy, education access, death penalty reform and Native American rights.
Singer-songwriter Linda Perry, best known as the lead singer and guitarist of 4 Non Blondes who had a hit with the 1993 song "What's Up?" will join as special gust. As a songwriter and producer, she has worked with artists such as Dolly Parton, Alicia keys, Brandi Carlile, Pink, Christina Aguilera among others.
