Judge denies request to block ballot measure on Port Washington data center's TID

OZAUKEE COUNTY, Wis. (CBS 58) -- An Ozaukee County judge is refusing to block a ballot measure concerning Port Washington's data center.

At issue is what's called a tax incremental district (TID).

During the spring election, voters will decide whether to scrap the town's TID, which would help fund the data center.

A handful of business groups sued, arguing state law doesn't let the city put the issue up for a vote.

But the judge is letting it move ahead as planned, meaning voters will have the final say in April.
